Alplas Plastics is a plastic convertor, situated in Killarney Gardens, just north of Cape Town. The company uses injection moulding as its primary conversion process to convert raw material into high – precision moulded articles. Alplas Plastics operates in domestic and international markets. The company has successfully established long – lasting business relationships with various companies in Europe, with several consumer orientated retailers / chain stores, and with a number of industrial / technological companies in South Africa.

A quality – competitive approach has enabled the company to establish a reputation of excellence in developing tools and offers a production facility producing high – volume mass produced precision parts.

Alplas Plastics provides many services, including product specification, tool making, production, printing, packaging and distribution. This range of services allows the company to operate in a broad variety of markets, either directly with its own products or through its customers.
The company has a significant tool room that manufactures the moulds required to produce new products. The tool room is operated by tool makers and mould designers. The tool room utilizes several lathes, spark – eroders, CNC machine, EDM machines, and a Charmilles wire cutter.

The production floor houses 80 injection moulding machines that range in size from 25 to 650 tons clamping pressure, as well as 2 blow – moulding machines. The materials used vary from the general – purpose materials like Polypropylene, Polyethylene and Polystyrene, to engineering grade materials like Acetyl, ABS, Polycarbonate, Nylon, PBT and customer – specified filled materials. The factory is set up to use a large variety of materials. Filled materials are used where necessary and where possible, materials are recycled.
